I travel for races

It has been a few weeks since my last conversation with the world of the blog.  I am under the impression that nobody truly reads what I say because I say A LOT anyway.  Oh well, the first person that sends an email to  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and says “I love Harry Potter and Scotland” will win a free Pair of Shoes.

Now, I do get to choose what shoes but that is the game I will play.  The last time we talked I was going to be running the Birkebeiner Trail Half Marathon on Sept. 24th 2011.  I have one word… Brutal.  It was the hardest race I have ran, seen or heard of in 18 years of running.  The race was however one of the most fun, hard and enjoyable races I have ever done.  Sue and I both ran the 13.1-mile race with extreme pleasure and hope to do it again.  Imagine it as race that all you do is run up and down short or tall hills very steep and never ending.  And then add twists and turns and no chance of getting into a rhythm.  That is the great race of the northwoods.  Again I have had the pleasure of enjoy one of the great races in the world.  I would say to anyone who travels for races, keep experiencing the world via running and life.  I do applaud you for reading my wonderings of the mind but how can we spread the thoughts and experiences of a little running store that has meant so much to me and to many others.  I am always interesting in new ideas… if you have one I am all ears and yes I have big ears.
