Ross' Blog

I want to share an experience with the great clients and customers of Run Away. I know I have been a little slow on updating this Blog but hopefully we can move past my faults and move forward to hearing cools happens of Ross, Sue, Pepper and the rest of the Run Away Staff.
This past spring I was able to embark on a journey to the Brooks International Head Qtrs just outside of Seattle WA. On this Journey my Father (Brad) and I meet with the Designers, Sales Managers, and President of Brooks multipal times in order to understand the company and where they are heading in the future. I feel like I am talking about the Future and the Past way too much but I feel everyone can learn from the past and look to future to make the best decisions on life, running, and of course shoes. My dad and I were part of a running specialty group from around the country and Brooks called it a Symposium. In the group were small owners like us to stores that have 18 running stores. We became good friends with a few of the stores and now have better connections to help our business grow and get better. We were pretty lucky to have a tour of the distribution center and even pick a few orders (I didn’t even screw it up). We were the first group of running specialty owners to see the facility. It was cool to see how they move product around and are continually looking for ways to make my life a little easier.
At the hotel we had sessions that we would be able to talk about our companies and what we do better than others. At this 4-hour session it gave us a few ideas you will see at the shops, more comfortable bathrooms and changing room, and even the TV commercial was a product of this discussion. We are one of the top small running stores in the country and Brooks feels it is important to include us in their new line of Pure Shoes. We were he first group of stores across the country to see the Pure Project shoes. This Pure line will be a dramatic change to what Brooks has done in the past. They arrive in GB on Oct. 1 and there will be many more details about this line coming soon. Thank you for reading my babble and see you at a race soon.
